A GBI investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Rockmart Police Officer. Randy Poole, a four-year officer with the Rockmart Police Department, was charged with one count of cruelty to children in the second degree. Police Chief Keith Sorrels requested the investigation after learning of the allegations against Poole. An arrest warrant was obtained through conference with District Attorney Bobby Brooks of the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit. The investigation into the incident continues.
