The Rome Floyd Development Authority Board of Directors has selected Spencer Hogg as the only finalist for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. Hogg is currently the president and CEO of the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority and will replace former CEO Missy Kendrick, who departed in May for a similar role in Columbus. Kendrick was with the RFDA for nearly six years.

In his current role, Hogg leads economic development across several counties and has successfully managed business recruitment and partnerships that have advanced the regional economy. Development Authority Chair Jimmy Byars praised Hogg for his leadership skills, strong ties to the region, and understanding of public-sector collaboration, expressing confidence that he would be a great fit for Rome and Floyd County.

Hogg expressed that he feels honored to be chosen as the sole finalist and is eager to work with local stakeholders to support existing industries and attract new investments for the community’s economic future. He is originally from Chattooga County and is noted for his ability to foster relationships with officials and local leaders.

Before becoming CEO, Hogg held various leadership positions within the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority, including vice president of economic development. His background also includes experience in government affairs from his work with former Congressmen Tom Graves and Jody Hice.

As required by Georgia law, Hogg’s application materials will be available to the public for at least 14 days before the board makes a final decision on his appointment, which may see him start later this summer.
