A convicted armed robber attempted to escape from a Recreation Department work detail in Rome on Thursday. Thirty-six year old Kenneth Blair, an inmate at the Floyd Correctional Institute, jumped from a truck at a stop light in north Rome, and took off down the railroad tracks. His freedom was short-lived, however. He was soon spotted off Glen Milner Boulevard and taken into custody. Blair faces multiple charges related to the incident.
