A Rome man , who used to live in Trion, was charged with theft in Chattooga County after someone reported him stealing from their vehicle at the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Reports indicate that Kenneth Lee Trammell, of a Villimar Street, Rome address, was caught on surveillance video taking a tote and a brown tarp from the bed of pickup truck back in January of this year.

A warrant was issued for Trammell’s arrest and he was booked into the Chattooga County Jail earlier this month on charges of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft.  He has also been charged with financial transaction card theft, theft by shoplifting and theft by taking.

Trammell is also a registered sex offender.  He was arrested in October of last year on child molestation charges.  Trammell was just released from prison in May of last year on a previous child molestation conviction.
