Rome City Police responded to a bomb threat on Wednesday at the West Central Elementary School, located on Lavender Road in Rome.

The call came into the  police on Wednesday morning and police and school officials evacuated the school building and transported the children to another location while police searched the school.

No bomb was found and shortly before 2 PM the children were allowed to return to the school building.

The Rome Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
