Drivers in Rome can expect big delays on Tuesday. According to reports, Norfolk Southern will be conducting maintenance work at the railroad crossing on Second Avenue at Riverbend Drive. Work is scheduled for Tuesday between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.

Workers will be replacing the ties, panels and rock according to Jason Carter of Norfolk Southern.

Carter added that the company is hopeful to be completed by Tuesday but if not they may have to close the road again on Wednesday.
