The Red Lobster in Rome is slated for closure as part of a last-ditch effort by the restaurant chain to regain solvency. CNN reported this past week that the company is more than $1 billion in debt and the company is selling off locations to pay creditors. The Rome Red Lobster on Shorter Avenue is one of twelve more locations in the Peach State that will be closed, according to reports. Red Lobster, which was founded in 1968, once had around 650 restaurants in the United States and internationally. The restaurant chain reported $12.5 million in losses in the fourth quarter of 2023.
