For the second time this week, two Floyd County residents have been arrested for animal cruelty.

Rome Police arrested two men at a home on Strand Street saying the two men caused “extreme pain and suffering” to seven dogs at the residence.  Police say that the dogs were deprived of food, water and shelter.  While police were on the scene they observed dogs “feeding on a deceased” dog carcass that was at the property.

Fifty-five-year-old Gregory Lamar Morris and nineteen-year-old Quintavious Zachery were arrested and booked into the Floyd County Jail on seven counts of cruelty to animals.
