The 19 year-old Rome man, Deshawn Ronnell Gordon, who was accused of shooting a 14 year-old girl in the head earlier this month in now facing additional charges. Gordon was charged this week with statutory rape, 1st degree cruelty to children and two additional counts of aggravated assault.
Reports said that the additional aggravated assault charges come from his usage of a deadly weapon and the other for his intent to murder.
The 14 year-old, whom Gordon has a child with, has been transferred to Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta for therapy.
Reports added that Gordon shot the girl in the head four times.

Police arrested 19-year-old Deshawn Ronnell Gordon, of Rome, on Sunday after he was accused of shooting a 14 year-old girl in the head. Reports said that Gordon and the victim have a child together. The incident occurred around 1 am and Gordon was arrested at his home on Cherokee Drive.
The teen was airlifted to a hospital. As of Wednesday November 11, 2015 the teen was listed in serious condition.
Gordon is charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and giving false name to law enforcement.
