Local election officials say that the number of voters that cast ballots in the Republican Runoff Election was 33.51% of the 13,404 registered voters in the county.

Those numbers are high for a runoff election in Chattooga County.  Typically, there are far fewer voters in the runoff election than in the Primary.  This time that wasn’t the case.

Numbers show that 4,394 people voted in the GOP Primary in June and 4,492 people voted in the runoff election.

If the runoff election is any indication, voters are extremely interested in the contested races that will be on the ballot in November.
