Atrium Health Floyd has selected Sarah Husser to lead the FloydSpirit Foundation, the newly rebranded name for Atrium Health Floyd’s former Floyd Healthcare Foundation. The foundation serves as the system’s fundraising and “friend-raising” arm, supporting programs and resources that strengthen care and expand community health initiatives tied to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center and its affiliates.
Husser steps into the director role after serving as the foundation’s development officer and as fundraising and outreach coordinator for Cancer Navigators. In her new position, she will oversee fundraising efforts, boost community awareness, and build financial support for Atrium Health Floyd’s mission, while also working closely with Dan Bevels, president of the Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation, to help advance regional health-improvement efforts.
A longtime nonprofit professional, Husser has spent the past eight years with Atrium Health Floyd and previously led the Gordon County Convention & Visitors Bureau. She said her experience with Cancer Navigators revealed urgent needs facing patients and families, and she’s eager to raise support that helps meet those needs while sustaining and growing vital community programs.
