While the National Weather Service had left a Winter Storm Warning in place until 1 PM this afternoon, the good news is that we were seeing temperatures on the rise well before the sun came up this (Saturday) morning across the area.

Pre-dawn temperatures were above freezing for most areas around Chattooga County which means that any further precipitation today should be in the form of rain and not ice or snow.

At 4:30 AM the temperature in Summerville was 35 degrees.  Radar indicates heavy rain and even some thunderstorms coming out of Southeast Missouri across Western Kentucky and Tennessee where temperatures are already are hovering just above freezing.

For today we can't rule out some rain mixed with sleet and snow in the morning hours, but by 10 AM we should see all precipitation switch over to just rain.  We will see a good bit of rain this afternoon as well with our afternoon high reaching the upper 40's. Overnight temperatures will remain in the low 40's with more rain expected.

On Sunday the wet conditions will continue, but at least during the day-time we will remain above freezing.  There is a slight chance for a wintry mix on Sunday night into Monday morning.
