Saturday voting is being held today for the June 9th Primary.  All early-voting in Chattooga County takes place at the Chattooga County Registrar Office.

If you want to vote early and in person today, you should be sure to bring a picture ID when you come to vote.  Also, remember there may be a wait as the Chattooga County Registrar Office is limiting the number of people allowed inside the building due to COVID-19 restrictions.

When you arrive, you will be asked if you want a Republican or Democratic ballot for the June 9th Primary.  The primaries are the process by which each political party chooses its candidates for the November General Election.  This year, the only contested races are on the Republican ballot.  Those races include:

Commissioner – Jason Winters (Incumbent), Jeff Coley, Blake Elsberry

Probate Judge – Derrick Ekroat, Teresa Pope, Gary Woods

There are three local offices on the Democratic ballot, but none of those candidates have any opposition in the Primary Election.  Also, an independent for Probate Judge – Holley Strawn Gilliland, will not appear on a ballot until the November General Election.

Early voting will take place today from 9 AM until 4 PM.
