Chattooga County residents will have the opportunity to vote today for the upcoming May 24th Primary Election.
Chattooga County Registrar Sheena Weaver says, “Saturday voting is now from 9 am until 5 pm. In the past, Saturday voting ended at 4 pm. Voters should also be aware that since this is a primary, they will need to select which ballot they want to receive and each voter may only cast one ballot. Voters will need to select between Democratic, Republican, and Nonpartisan. Government issued photo identification is required.”
If you choose a non-partisan ballot, you will not see the names of local candidates who are running for seats on the Chattooga Board of Education, or those who are running for statewide or Federal offices, since all those candidates must declare party when they run.
There are different ballots for Trion residents, since voters inside the city limits of Trion are not able to vote in the county school board races.
