Over the weekend, the sheriff’s office in neighboring DeKalb County, Alabama issued a statement concerning a missing Valley Head girl.  Makenna Joy Purvis was last seen at the end of September.  Purvis is a former employee at Lucky’s Supermarket in Menlo.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said, “Makenna’s family and friends are very worried about her. They ask that if Makenna sees this message, please come home or at least call someone to just let them know you’re ok.”
On Saturday, the DeKalb County sheriff’s investigators along with the Valley Head Police and Mentone Police Departments and rescue teams conducted a search for Makenna in a wooded area where she was last seen.  The team had members from as far away as Murfreesboro, Tennessee that helped in the search.  Two canine teams participated as well.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said, “The Sheriff’s Office would like to let Makenna know, she is not in any trouble at all. We only want to see Makenna back safe with the family and friends that love her so dearly. If you know where Makenna might be or have seen her, please call the DeKalb County Alabama Sheriff’s Office 256-845-3801 or the Investigation Office at 256-845-8562.”
