The Georgia Senate will vote today on the HOPE bill passed last week by the Georgia House.  According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, letters sent out yesterday by Senator Jason Carter (D-Decatur) to all 55 of his fellow senators shows just how many HOPE scholars in each county in Georgia would be covered under an alternative Democratic HOPE plan put forward in the Senate. 

In Chattooga County 98% of students seeking the HOPE Scholarship would be covered under the alternative plan.  The AJC said some Republicans are waivering on their committment to supporting the Governor’s plan to cut HOPE.
