Sen. Jeff Mullis Qualifies to Run For Re-Election
ATLANTA (March 10th, 2016) | Senator Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) qualified Monday, March 7th, and is seeking his 8th two-year term as a State Senator from the 53rd district consisting of Catoosa, Dade, Walker and parts of Chattooga County.
Senator Mullis serves as the chairman of the very powerful Senate Rules Committee that is responsible for choosing the bills that are debated and voted on every day in the Senate. Along with his chairmanship, Senator Mullis is a member of the Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, and Regulated Industries and Utilities Committees.
Senator Mullis has been recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Georgia” for ten consecutive years for his work on several issues, including transportation and economic development. Also, James Magazine listed Senator Mullis as one of the “Most Influential Political Leaders in Georgia” for eight consecutive years.
“I am beyond humbled that the citizens of the 53rd district have allowed me to serve in the State Senate over the years,” Mullis said. “I am looking forward to speaking with the people of Northwest Georgia during my campaign and ensuring every county and community is heard.”
The primary election for the State Senate seat will be held on May 24th, 2016.
