U.S. Senator John Ossoff (D-GA) was in Northwest Georgia yesterday to announce new life-saving equipment that is coming to Chattooga County with Atrium Health’s free standing emergency department.
Ossoff announced new resources he is delivering to boost access to breast cancer screenings for women and health care for families in Georgia. Senator Ossoff secured bipartisan support in Congress to help Atrium Health secure a second mobile mammography unit to accompany the upcoming freestanding emergency department in Chattooga County to serve families across Northwest Georgia.
Ossoff made the announcement alongside Atrium Health Floyd’s CEO Kurt Stuenkel in Rome on Friday.
Stuenkel said, “We are thankful for Georgia’s legislative delegation’s support of health care workers and our efforts to expand access to high quality care in some of the state’s most critical areas including pediatrics, maternal health and chronic disease management”.
