Former State Senator Waymond “Sonny” Huggins has passed away following a brief illness

Huggins was elected to the State Senate in 1983 and served several terms into the late 90’s

He was born in Lafayette in 1927 and served as a forest ranger for more than 30 years; he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lafayette.  He is survived by his wife Annette

Services will be held at First Baptist Church of LaFayette  Tuesday,  January 26 at 2:00 p.m.,  with Dr. Todd Gaddis and Dr. Warren Moorhead officiating.

Family  will  receive  friends  at  First Baptist Church of LaFayette  Monday,  January 25  from  4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  and  Tuesday  from  12:00 p.m. until service time.
