A thirty-eight-year-old sex offender was arrested by Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputies this week after failing to register with authorities.
Jeremy Wade Bruce was convicted of Strong Arm Rape in Utah in February of 2013. According to authorities in Utah, Bruce was charged with rape after asking a seventeen-year-old Utah girl to send him nude photos online. Bruce then used the possession of those photos to coerce the girl into having sexual relations with him on multiple occasions in Utah.
Bruce was charged with nine first-degree felony counts of rape and two second-degree felony counts of exploitation of a minor for possessing the nude photos of the girl, which are considered child pornography.
Bruce was on parole in Georgia at the time of the rapes, after being released from a Georgia prison where he had served time for obstruction of law enforcement.
Bruce, who was living in the Halls Valley area of Chattooga County was arrested Tuesday for failing to register as a sex offender.
