Michael Luke Shedd at the time of his arrest in 2019
A forty-three-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested this week for failing to register properly as a sex offender. Michael Luke Shedd was sentenced to prison in 2019 after he sexually assaulted a male acquaintance who was passed out from drinking. Shedd admitted to the assault and during the investigation into the incident, child pornography was found on Shedd’s cell phone. The GBI assisted local authorities in that investigation. Shedd was sentenced in Chattooga County Superior Court to five years in prison and was recently released. He is currently on probation for twenty years as part of his sentencing from 2019. Shedd was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on the current charges.
