The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes from a Gore-area convenience store and gas station.
According to Sheriff Mark Schrader, the theft happened on Sunday, October 17 around 3 AM, when someone broke inside the 76 Convenience Store in Gore and stole over $10,000 worth of cigarettes.
The sheriff says that the the thief cut the lock off the door of the gas station with a saw. In addition to stealing the cigarettes, the thief also took the shelves that the cigarettes were stored on. The thief was wearing a blue sweatshirt and a face-mask.
Sheriff Schrader says anyone with any information is asked to call the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
