Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader has a plan to honor the past in Chattooga County.   The sheriff is in the process of remodeling the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office in Summerville and part of that project includes a new entrance on Washington Street.  Schrader told AM 1180 that he has a whole wall that he would like to dedicate to the former sheriffs of Chattooga County.  Sheriff Schrader is asking the public’s help.  He says that he has identified the names and dates of service for all of the sheriffs going back to when Chattooga County was formed in 838.  The current sheriff would like to find pictures of as many of those sheriffs as possible to hang on the wall in the sheriff’s office.  Also, the sheriff plans to feature pictures of the old jail on the wall.  If anyone has, or knows of pictures of former sheriffs of Chattooga County, contact Sheriff Schrader at 678-767-3175 or email mschrader@chattoogasheriff.us
