The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office has moved from downtown Summerville to the new location on Underwood Drive in Trion, and Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader is planning an open house at the new facility coming up this Thursday, December 22nd.

Sheriff Schrader said that the old facility in downtown Summerville was cramped and with the new offices, his investigators can spread out and have more room to work.  The sheriff also said that with the sheriff’s office being relocated, it has relieved some downtown congestion in Summerville.  The sheriff stated, “It is allowing for more parking around the courthouse.  That area would get pretty congested, especially on days when court was in session”.

Walmart in Trion recently donated a new television to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office for their new facility located near Hays State Prison.

Sheriff Mark Schrader tells WZQZ News that the new office is allowing his employees the room that they have needed.

The sheriff said that his office will hold the open house at the new facility on Underwood Drive this Thursday from 10 AM until 1 PM.
