Sheriff Mark Schrader alerted the community around Melba Drive in Trion on Wednesday morning about a suspect that had fled from a house on foot into a wooded area.  The

suspect was later captured late Wednesday evening in Cherokee County, AL according to the Sheriff.

Trion City Schools were on “soft lockdown.” Classes still took place as normal but the doors were locked and security was tighter, according to Trion School Supt. Phil Williams.

The suspect, 32 year old Jonathan Culberson, who was wanted on a felony charge of child molestation, was captured late Wednesday evening in Cherokee County, AL according to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader.
