A Summerville man was arrested and charged with drug violations by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force Monday.

According to Drug Task Force office Trey Skelton, the task force received at tip that Kyle Devonte Stevens of an East 6th Street address was selling marijuana.

When task force officers saw Stevens driving down the road they stopped his vehicle on East 6th Street and upon approaching the vehicle smelled a strong odor of green marijuana. After getting consent to search by Stevens and a passenger in the vehicle officers found marijuana on Stevens, who at that point ran from officers. Skelton said they caught up with Stevens after about 200 yards. Stevens was charged with possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug related objects and obstruction of an officer.
