The Chattooga County has named it's first Officers of the Month in a new program that will recognize officers for their service to the department. 

Officers of the Month for January are Captain Eddie Stroup, of the jail division, and Deputy Jason Burrage, of the patrol division, according to Chief Deputy Kevin Woods. The officers were presented with certificates Friday morning, as well as gift cards. Photographs in recognition of their achievement will be placed in the lobby of the Sheriff's Office.

Woods said, the selections are made by fellow officers and personnel in each division of the department. Officers will be named each month.
