Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader says that his department is searching for a wanted felon in the Trion area.

On Friday, sheriff’s deputies made contact with the suspect in Trion and the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect was last seen running near the footbridge close to the dam at Mount Vernon Mills.  On Saturday morning, sheriff’s deputies once again spotted the suspect near the Dollar General store close to the Walker County line.  Sheriff Schrader said that the felon has an acquaintance in Trion, near where the felon was seen on Friday.

The suspect’s name is Chase Posey.  He is wanted in Floyd County for aggravated stalking, exploitation of an elder and interfering with a 911 call.

He is described as a white male, slim that was last seen wearing grey sweat pants and a green shirt.  If you have any information, please contact the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office or Chattooga 911.
