Reports indicate that a person was shot in the head in the Teloga area on Monday afternoon.  The victim is being life-flighted from the Trion Track field by Lifeforce.  AM 1180 will have more information as it is released by local law enforcement. 

Update….Sheriff Mark Schrader says that a woman was shot at several Times earlier today but was not hit. A short time later her house caught on fire. Law enforcement identified the suspect….more information to be released soon 

Update:

A domestic dispute ended with an assailant taking his own life on Monday.  The dispute between a man and woman began near the intersection of Highway 337 and Trion-Teloga Road.  The man fired several shots into the woman's vehicle, but she was not injured.  Later on Monday, the woman's house on Webb Road caught on fire.  Around 4:45 PM deputies located the suspect on a dirt road sitting in his pickup truck.  As law enforcement approached the man's truck he reportedly shot himself in the head.  Lifeforce was called, but the decision was made to transport the man to a Rome hospital.  The suspect died en-route to the hospital in Rome.  As of 10:30 PM the suspect's name had not been released, pending notification of next of kin.  Sheriff Mark Schrader confirmed that the suspect was a resident of Floyd County.

A homicide in  Floyd County is also being investigated in connection with this incident.
