Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office Deputies recently responded to a report of shoplifting at the Highway 27 Walmart in Pennville.

Upon arrival, law enforcement were informed by store staff, that someone had shoplifted a cell phone and when the woman in question was confronted outside the store she managed to break free and flee into a nearby wooded area.

Authorities were unable to locate the suspect however they were given a name by the store personnel.

The matter remains under investigation.
