Shorter College has installed a new emergency warning system on their Rome Campus that would give the ability to alert the entire campus if a crisis situation were to ever take place.  The system is calle the Student Alert Mass Notification System and features sirens as well as pre-recorded or live message capability.  Many colleges around the nation have implemented such devices since the campus shootings in Virginia and Illinois.
