Sixteen students graduated Wednesday, March 25, from Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Electrical Lineworker program during a ceremony held at GNTC’s Polk County Campus in Rockmart.

The graduates completed an intensive 10-week training program that included hands-on instruction using donated trucks, poles, climbing equipment, and other tools of the trade. In addition to finishing the Electrical Lineworker program, students also earned four certificates of completion, a restricted Class A CDL license, OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification, and an overall certificate documenting 395 hours of training.

GNTC instructor Judy Roddenberry said the graduates are entering the workforce with the essential tools needed for success and have a bright future ahead of them. She said instructors understand the responsibility of preparing students for the next steps in life and work to create a positive learning environment while encouraging continued growth throughout their careers.

The spring 2026 class marks the 10th cohort of the Electrical Lineworker program since it began in the fall of 2022.

Graduates of the 10th cohort include Yoni Bautista, Widman Diaz, Evan Hayes, Miguel Martinez, Gage McWhorter, Omar Munguia, Jose Pacheco, Luis Perez, Javier Plaza, David Postell, Miguel Rebolloso, Christian Rodriguez, Eric Salazar, Trey Scales, Dontarious Thompson, and Cayden Watson.

The next cohort of the Electrical Lineworker program begins April 27 and is already full, but seats are still available for the class starting August 31.
