A small earthquake was recorded in Northwest Georgia on Wednesday morning.  According to the US Geological Survey, the 2.1 earthquake was recorded on Lookout Mountain about 6 miles northeast of Mentone, Alabama on near Georgia Highway 157 in the Cloudland Community. According to the US Geological Survey, the most common areas in the state that are likely to experience quakes are Georgia’s northwest counties, areas along the South Carolina border and areas in the central and west central part of the state.
