A Rome woman faces charges of felony possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, after police discovered 49 small baggies of the drug inside her pants leg during a search.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department records, Ester Estall Autry, 33, of a Calhoun Avenue address is additionally charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects.  Autry told officers that she needed to use the bathroom after they pulled over a truck she was riding in.

An officer asked where they were coming from, and Autry said they’d been at a Duke Street home, a suspected drug house. During a search officers noticed Autry’s hands lingered in her boots, and they found several empty baggies inside. 

She claimed she took the baggies from the home because she is a kleptomaniac.

Police then noticed a bulge in her right pants leg – a bulge that was caused by 49 baggies of cocaine.

Autry is being held on a $10,100 bond Friday.
