One employee was treated for minor burns Friday night after a chlorine leak at Southeastern Mills.
According to Rome Fire Department Battalion Chief Phil Litton:
A chlorine pipe used to bleach flour became clogged and caused the pipe to leak a small amount of chlorine. One person who suffered minor eye burns and irritation was treated at the scene by Floyd EMS.
The entire mill was evacuated around 9 p.m. while firefighters and mill maintenance workers cleaned up the spill and ventilate the area.
