Speeding is never a good thing, but speeding with a suspended license and no insurance is a recipe for getting arrested, as one Chattooga County resident came to learn.

While out on patrol on Sunday morning, Chattooga County Sheriffs Deputies passed a vehicle headed north on Highway 27, which was traveling in excess of 78 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Initiating a traffic stop lead to more confusion. The driver of the vehicle, initially identified as Ashley Baldwin, stated that she thought the speed limit was 65 mph in that area. While preparing a citation, the GCIC came back with the drivers license belonging to an Ashley Reed, and that license had been suspended due to receiving a super speeder ticket. Further checking also revealed that the vehicle that Ashley Baldwin was in did not have an active registration or insurance. Ashley Baldwin did tell Deputies that she also went by Ashley Reed.

Ashley told Deputies that she had received a ticket last year in Hall County, but that the fine had been paid. Deputies explained that her license was suspended due to a Super Speeder ticket not being paid. After failing to produce proper insurance and registration for the vehicle, Deputies placed Ashley under arrest. She was charged with Driving while license suspended or revoked, speeding, and no proof of insurance.

The vehicle was towed and Ashely Baldwin Reed was transported to the jail without further incident.
