According to the report by the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department, David James Roper, of Laurel Drive, Trion is alleged to have stabbed Jeffery Hines of a West Elm, Trion address around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.
When deputies arrived where the incident reportedly took place in the area of Rossville Boulevard and Rose Circle, Trion, they found with a laceration to his right inner forearm. Mr. Hines
was bleeding reportedly had blood all over his arm and clothes. Hines told the deputy that Buckwheat stabbed him. Buckwheat turned out to be David Roper.
According to the report, Hines said Roper was riding a red motorcycle on Rose Circle and when he saw Hine he jumped off the motorcycle in a violent manner. Roper is alleged to have taken off the helmet and approached Hines. Hines said Roper used abusive language in a threatening manner toward him and the two got into a verbal altercation. At this time, Roper is alleged to have pulled out a pocket knife that he flipped open and is alleged to have started swinging the knife at Hines, stabbing him in the forearm. After stabbing Hines, Roper got back on his motorcycle and fled, according to the incident report. A BOLO was issued for Roper, who was arrested shortly thereafter by a Chattooga County Sheriff's Deputy.
