Amid allegations of elder abuse and drugging patients, an assisted living facility in Rock Spring has been shut down by the Georgia Department of Human Resources.

This week, the department served a warrant at Majestic Manor on Pin Oak Drive – located just past Wanda’s Restaurant in Rock Spring.  The warrant was served on Wednesday of this week.  The facility is operated by Tennessee resident Debra Donahue of Ooltewah.

Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson has confirmed that his department assisted in relocating fifteen residents as the state regulators shut down the facility.

Allegations that prescriptions were given to sedate residents will be investigated by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, according to Sheriff Wilson.

Criminal charges are possible in connection with the closing and the investigation is continuing.
