Georgia State Senator Colton Moore (R-Trenton), who represents Northwest Georgia including Chattooga County, was fined $500 last month following an ethics investigation by the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission.

The Commission determined that Senator Moore failed to submit required personal financial disclosures for the years 2022 and 2023. Additionally, he missed a campaign finance filing deadline in January 2025.

The violations came to light as part of a broader audit conducted by the Commission of several state lawmakers. Senator Moore signed a consent order last week, officially admitting to the violations.

While no additional disciplinary actions are expected in this specific case, the Commission stated it would continue its ongoing review process. This effort aims to ensure all elected officials comply with state ethics regulations and reporting requirements.
