The Fall Autumn Leaf Special train rides begin today bringing travelers from the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga to Dowdy Park in downtown Summerville.
It all marks the beginning of Steam into Summerville Railroad Days 2012. City of Summerville officials and volunteers will greet visitors with the annual Sum-Nelly Arts and Crafts Festival today. While the TVRM steam engine revolves on the vintage railroad turntable for the return trip to Chattanooga, visitors will enjoy live music, food, and arts and crafts at the park; and walks downtown. The depot will have popcorn, city tee-shirts, and train whistles available.
According to TVRM officials all train rides are sold out with the exception of the November 3 ride. Sum-Nelly begins at 9 a.m.
