A bicycle that had been reported as stolen, turns out to be possibly not so much stolen, as it was maybe just retrieved by the owner.

Summerville Police Officers met with Jaden Barnett and Lisa Cordell at their residence late last week. Barnett reported that the red and yellow bicycle that had been on his front porch was now missing. Barnett had boarded the bus for school at around 7 am that morning and when he returned home from school at 4:30 the bike was missing. Officers had been on a call at the residence earlier that morning and had also observed the bike on the porch at that time. Cordell stated that she had been home all day and the last time she saw the bicycle was around the same time, around 7:30 that morning.

The next morning when the responding Officer arrived on shift, another Officer advised that the bicycle in question had actually been traded off to a neighbor in October of last year. The neighbor, however had been allowing Barnett to use the bicycle on occasion, even though it now belonged to the neighbor.
