A Summerville man reported a stolen oil cap and told a responding deputy that he believes that the incident was retaliation for a letter to the editor that the complainant wrote to the local newspaper.

Lewis Strange told a deputy this week that he was driving his truck and his oil light came on.  On further investigation, he discovered that his oil cap was missing.

Mr. Strange said that he has been the recipient of harassing incidents after writing a letter to the editor about religious issues.

He requested that a report be on file at the sheriff’s office concerning the incident.
