A truck reported stolen in Chattooga County on Wednesday was found near the Cherokee County line early this morning (Thursday, August 30) wrecked and with a large amount of blood in its interior.

According to the report from the Chattooga County Sheriff's Department, Little Caesars Pizza employee Stephen Hollend said he noticed his truck missing from the businesses parking lot when he came outside for a break Wednesday night. There was a .22 rifle in the truck's gun rack.

Today (Thursday) the 1998  green Ford Ranger 4X4 with a dent in its passenger side door has more dents in it. It was found wrecked on Half Mile Road, in Chattooga County, just outside the Cherokee County Alabama line. Apparently the drive of the stolen vehicle was injured in the wreck since a "good amount of blood" was found inside the vehicle, according to sheriff's deputies.

A .22 rifle was found in the roadway on Highway 114 in Lyerly early this morning. No word yet on whether or not it is the same rifle that had been in the truck.

There are no suspects in the theft at this time.
