The Summerville Police Department is investigating a burglary at a local storage unit that happened earlier this week.

According to police, the complainant told them that someone had burglarized a storage unit at Chattooga Self Storage by picking the lock.  The officer observed that there was no visible damage to the lock, but inside there were several items that were missing.

A plasma television and a cabinet along with NASCAR memorabilia were missing, according to the complainant.

Officers found shoe prints on the scene, including one shoe print on a piece of paper that was on the floor.  Also, officers observed fresh tire tracks leading up to the unit that they believe may have been from the burglar.

The information from the scene was handed over to a detective and the case is still under investigation.
