North Georgia EMC’s Trion offices will be closed today for regular business due to inclement weather and poor road conditions. NGEMC’s Calhoun office will be open by 10 a.m. and the NGEMC business offices in Dalton and Fort Oglethorpe are also open today. As of 9:30 a.m., except for some isolated power outages, power has been restored to all NGEMC customers who lost service due to this morning’s snow storm.
Extra crews are on ready to respond should storm conditions cause more power outages. Crews will remain on duty until all power has been restored and to work new outages that may occur if storms persist.
Mixed precipitation including snow, sleet, and ice may form on trees and power lines, causing damage to electrical facilities. Customers without electricity are asked to call their local NGEMC office and use the automated telephone outage reporting system. If outages are widespread, the phone lines may be busy due to a heavy call volume.
Please stay away from downed lines and report them immediately to North Georgia EMC, your local power company or call 911.
To report outages, please call our offices to reach our 24-hour dispatch. During widespread outages, phone lines may be unavailable due to extremely high call volume.
