At last night’s monthly City Hall meeting in Summerville, the Summerville City Council recognized the Recreation Deptartment’s 7-Under Indians and Cheer Team. They were this year’s North Georgia Youth Football League “Super Bowl Champions”, and were congratulated by the council and the meeting’s attendees.

Then, the council also recognized Mr. Jamarious Mosteller for his accomplishment as the GHSA 2-A Triple Jump gold medal winner in Track & Field. Mosteller was joined by his family, friends, and coaches at the meeting when Mayor Harry Harvey read the proclamation that formally honored his achievement.

After these recognitions were made, the council worked multiple items of business. This included hearing a presentation from county EMA/9-1-1 director Pamela Vaughan on a proposed Robocall system for the city, hearing from Tony Jones on changes to the city’s short-term employee disability coverage, and voting on whether to accept a bid for removing sludge from the waste water treatment plant.

WZQZ will have more on the meeting in upcoming newscasts and posts online.
