Congratulations to the Summerville Rec. 8U Girls Softball team, who are G.R.P.A. (Georgia Recreation and Parks Association) Girls Softball State Champions.

The team had several impressive wins on the way to becoming state champs.  The defeated Jackson 16-7 and then Putnam County 24-0 and Dawson County 15-6 before defeating Jackson County 13-11 to win the championship.

The girls were coached by Brandon Stewart and assistant coaches Leah McCullough and Kimmie Barnes.
