A 17-year-old employee at an Advanced Auto Parts in Summerville was fired and could face criminal charges after allegedly verbally threatening a customer during an incident on Monday, August 18, 2025.

According to a police report released on Friday of last week, Summerville Police Officers were dispatched to the Advanced Auto Parts location after a customer requested assistance regarding an altercation with an employee. The complainant told officers that he had gone to the store around 8:00 PM to purchase products when a 17-year-old employee, identified as Carson Aguirre, verbally threatened him.

The customer stated that Aguirre allegedly told him, “If I had something, I’d stick you,” and proceeded to use profanities. He further claimed that Aguirre then challenged him to a fight outside the store after his shift concluded. The customer, who had previously only known Aguirre as an employee, requested a police report and expressed his desire to press charges.

Officers advised the complainant that he would need to visit the magistrate’s office to file a warrant against Aguirre, confirming that a police report detailing the incident would be made.

The store manager, Willie Phillips, corroborated parts of the customer’s account. Phillips told police that he witnessed the confrontation between Aguirre and the customer. Following the incident, due to his behavior, Mr. Phillips immediately sent Aguirre home and initiated the process for his termination.

The manager also advised that while the store’s surveillance camera was unable to capture the specific incident at the time, a formal statement form regarding the event was completed by him.

Carson Aguirre’s employment with the parts store has been terminated following the incident. The customer now has the option to pursue criminal charges by filing a warrant at the magistrate’s office.

  • An early version of this story incorrectly identified the store as AutoZone.  It was Advanced Auto Parts according to the report from the Summerville Police Department
