A 5-year-old child who was burned after hot food spilled onto her lap was transported to the Shriner’s burn hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 9, according to Jerry Collins of the Rome Shrine Club.

The child is from Summerville but was visting family when the accident happened. 

“This was done at no cost to the family,” Collins said. “The Rome Shrine Club will take care of all the expenses in treating this child, including transporting back and forth for all her future treatment.”
