The Summerville City Council will hold a called meeting coming up this evening to interview candidates for the position of City Manager.  Current City Manager Andrea Surratt will be leaving her post at the end of the month and the council is expected to hire a replacement before August 15th.

Last week, the city announced the final three candidates for the position:  Larry F. Deaton, Jr., Emma Wells and Jason Winters are the three finalists selected for the position.  Deaton is a state employee that lives in Calhoun.  Wells works for the Rome / Floyd County government and Winters is the former three-term sole commissioner of Chattooga County.  While Monday’s meeting is open to the public, the council will go into executive session to interview the candidates.

This evening’s meeting gets underway at 4:30 PM and will be held at Summerville City Hall on Georgia Avenue.
